Digitally controlled railway miniature at the scale of 1:87
This 10 m2 railway miniature is complete with a digital control system. The miniature comprises 150 manageable (via decoders) elements — those are points, traffic lights, block sections and locomotives.
The locomotion in the miniature is done automatically. 4 trains are simultaneously in motion. The trains are driven by a specially programmed microcontroller. The miniature’s work cycle comprises 14 minutes. A separate system here is the bus cruising through the miniature along the selected route stopping at the crossing in the event a train is approaching.
Also in the miniature, there are a moving big dipper, a spinning windmill, and a functional turn-table. There are 4 contours of street lighting, and 3 contours of house lights.
This project is a result of synergistic work of several experts: hardware engineers, designers, modelers, programmers, artists etc. This miniature hosts the most up-to-date technologies of controlling and surveying the position of the rolling-stock.
